Overview

Experience a Full Day Elephant Observation and Doi Inthanon Hiking. First, enjoy scenic rural Chiang Mai as you’re picked up and embark on a journey through picturesque landscapes.

Upon arriving elephants live, you will change into traditional Karen clothing. From there, engage in hands-on activities, such as preparing food for feeding them, while also learning about their history and behavior, interacting and playing with them gently. Afterward, take a refreshing break at the waterfall, where you can relax and sip herbal tea while observing the elephants. Later, enjoy crafting a unique Thai cultural souvenir to remember your visit.

Following a half day elephant visit, savor a delicious local meal. Then, head to Doi Inthanon National Park, where you’ll experience the summit’s refreshing breeze. Explore the Twin Pagodas and the lush Botanical Garden. Additionally, hike the Pha Dok Siew nature trail and visit a stunning waterfall. Finally, unwind at an organic Karen Hill Tribe coffee farm before returning to the city.

Customers will travel in a 12-seater, air-conditioned van, switching to a roofed 4Ă—4 truck for the last 10 minutes to reach the sanctuary.

No prior cooking experience is required. However, the classes are recommended for children above 5 years old

Itinerary

06.30 – 07.00 AM :

Pick up from your hotel or accommodation in Chiang Mai

Drive approximately 1½ hours through a beautiful rural area where you can catch sight of flowing mountain rivers, rice fields, corn fields, and banana plantations

08.30 AM :

Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will be greeted and welcomed

Change into traditional Karen clothing and receive a briefing about the sanctuary and the Elephants by our knowledgeable tour guides

Participate in preparing food and snacks for the elephants, a hands-on experience

Enjoy feeding the elephants while maintaining a safe distance, as you learn about their history and understand their behavior

Drink freshly harvested herbal tea from the village while observing the elephants in their natural habitat

Watch the elephants’ daily routine, which might involve observing them as they look for food in the jungle, bathe with the mahouts, or relax in the mud as they bond within the herd (subject to the natural behavior and preferences of the elephants on the day of the visit)

11:30 AM :

Enjoy a delicious local meal and say goodbye to the Elephants

12:00 PM :

Drive approximately 45 minutes to Doi Inthanon National Park and explore the slopes and summit of Thailand’s highest mountain.

1:00 PM :

Experience the refreshing breeze and mist atop Thailand’s highest peak

2:00 PM :

Visit The Twin Pagodas which showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage and the Botanical Garden which has a variety of colorful flowering plants

3:00 PM :

Begin your hike at the Pha Dok Siew nature trail, where you’ll encounter rare wildlife, traverse lush rice terraces, visit a waterfall, and explore an organic Karen Hill Tribe coffee farm

5:30 PM :

Leave Doi Inthanon mountain and drive approximately 1½ hours back to Chiang Mai

7:00 PM :
